Aloha, WOW... It has been way to long. I can't even think of where to start except that I am 3 weeks into this "Transition" to Chief Petty Officer and I couldn't be prouder. I am learning alot and making some great friends along the way. I am very appreciative of the folks that truly want to help us become better leaders and sailors. I am very proud to be a part of this. NAVY CHIEF, NAVY PRIDE.

Last week I attended the CPO Legacy Academy aboard USS Missouri (BB 63) She is the the home of the Japanese Surrender to World War II. I could go on and on with information but I just don't have the time. I am going to post some pictures and say that it was a SUPER BUSY, INFORMATIVE, MEMORABLE and touching WEEK! I had a great time and am glad to continue on to the next weeks. I promise that when all of this is over, I can share more.
I did have one awesome day to share (no pictures) SORRY!! Wednesday, we went to the Kaneohe Marine Corps Base and participated in the FMF(Fleet Marine Force) Challenge.
It is teamwork/communication/leadership training. The teams were 6 people and our events included AMMO Hauling (running ammo from point A to B with a helmet and flack jacket) HUM-V pull, Climbing over logs, Sliding down poles, Crawling under a barbed-wire jungle, and a tug-o-war that had us starting in the muddy water on our bellys then up to push up position. I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF THIS DAY!!! I loved Eating an MRE (meal ready to eat) for lunch. It makes you think about what our deployed soilders and sailors are eating everyday over in the middle east.
Ok, I have to go so I will quickly post some pictures. Only 3 more weeks and 3 days until I can call myself a CHIEF and get back to SWIM BIKE RUN SURF!!!
So that Navy Service Uniform poster on the wall in your first picture... I'm not sure how, but I've seen all of those before. I'm certain it was through my previous job, but I just can't think how/why I got my hands on them.

Thanks for sharing this neat stuff! I believe the photo below the ‘IN TRIBUTE’ photo shows an ‘armored’ door perhaps to the conning area of BB63--one can estimate the thickness of the armor (>12”) and the size of the door hinge can be seen to the left of Chief Terrish’s hand in the photo. I really enjoyed my tour of the USS Missouri (BB63); our tour guide was John Fernie. I believe BB63 is scheduled to go into drydock soon for routine maintenance and will not be available for tours; the docking may be delayed by the USS Port Royal work. Rick
